Terms

Effective October 27, 2026

Draft for review. This page is a draft, not legal advice, and may change before LockSet launches.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Rodman Swanston (“we”, “us”), the developer of LockSet, for the LockSet app and this website. By downloading or using LockSet, you accept them. The privacy policy explains how data is handled: in short, LockSet collects nothing.

2. Your licence to use LockSet

  • From the App Store (iPhone and iPad): your use of LockSet is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to it where it allows. If they conflict, the Standard EULA wins. The licensor is Rodman Swanston, not Apple.
  • From Google Play (Android): we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use LockSet on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. The Google Play Terms of Service also apply to the download and to purchases.

3. Free and Pro

LockSet is free to download and use, with no time limit. The free version covers logging, your full history, up to 4 routines, charts for the last 90 days, backups, export and the AI assistant. LockSet Pro adds the features listed on the Pro page, which may change over time. Exporting your data stays free on every plan.

LockSet Pro is offered as:

  • Monthly ($2.99 a month in the US) and Yearly ($19.99 a year in the US, starting with a 14-day free trial): auto-renewing subscriptions;
  • Lifetime ($59.99 in the US): a single purchase that doesn’t renew.

The store shows the price in your country, with taxes, before you confirm.

4. Subscriptions, trials and cancelling

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
  • A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • The free trial turns into a paid yearly subscription when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. If you cancel during the trial, you aren’t charged.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your store account: on iPhone, Settings › your name › Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
  • When you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If a price changes, the store tells you first and, where its rules require, asks you to agree.

5. Lifetime

Lifetime unlocks Pro for as long as LockSet is available and supported on the store you bought it from, on any device that uses the same store account. It isn’t a subscription and never renews.

6. Refunds

Apple and Google handle payments, so refund requests go to them, under their policies: on iPhone at reportaproblem.apple.com, and on Android through Google Play’s refund process. We can’t see your payment details or issue refunds ourselves. Nothing in these terms limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under the law where you live.

7. No account: restoring and switching platforms

LockSet has no account. A purchase belongs to the Apple ID or Google account you made it with. Use Restore Purchases to get Pro back on a device with the same store account. Purchases don’t carry over between the App Store and Google Play: moving from iPhone to Android, or the other way round, means buying Pro again on the other store. Your data moves with a backup.

8. If Pro ends

If your subscription ends, you keep everything you created. Nothing is deleted. Existing routines stay usable, training blocks and progressions keep running, and Pro-only actions (such as adding more than 4 routines or viewing longer chart ranges) lock until you subscribe again.

9. Your data

Your training data is yours. It is stored on your device, not with us, so you are responsible for keeping backups. We can’t recover data that is lost with a device, deleted, or left in a backup you can’t open (we don’t keep backup passphrases).

10. The AI assistant

The AI assistant is optional and uses an account you hold with an AI provider. Your use of that provider is governed by its terms, and it bills you directly. The assistant’s replies are generated by a language model from your own log: they can be wrong or incomplete, and they aren’t professional advice. Nothing in your plan changes unless you approve it.

11. Health and safety

LockSet is a training log. It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t give medical advice. Its suggestions, including progression targets and the AI assistant’s replies, are not a substitute for a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach. Check with a professional before starting a new programme, especially with an injury or a health condition. Train within your limits, use safe technique and equipment, and stop if you feel pain.

12. Acceptable use

Don’t copy, modify, redistribute, sell or rent LockSet, and don’t reverse-engineer it except where the law allows. The exercise library includes content licensed from RepDB; don’t extract or redistribute it. Third-party credits are listed in Settings › About.

13. Ownership

LockSet, its name, icon, design and code belong to Rodman Swanston or its licensors. These terms give you a licence to use the app, not ownership of it.

14. Changes to the app

We may update LockSet, and add, change or remove features. We won’t remove your access to your own data, and export stays free. If we ever stop offering LockSet, the app on your device keeps working offline with the data you have.

15. Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, LockSet is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise it will be error-free or always available.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost data, or for injuries resulting from training, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for LockSet in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the developer lives, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, the mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, mention them in the app’s release notes. If you keep using LockSet after a change, the new terms apply.
